Carbon Footprint

Over the last year Silotank have invested in reducing our carbon footprint. 2 ways that we have done this is by installing solar panels and also investing in a laser machine for our plastic work shop.

Having installed the solar panels in 2015 we have been able to reduce the amount of electric imported into the business from Power NI.

Earlier this year we installed a laser machine in our plastic workshop. By doing this we have been able to reduce the amount of plastic waste going to landfill. This has also helped reduce transport emissions as it means we are able to manufacture more components in house. Ciaran O’Dowd our Technical Director oversaw the installation of this and comments ‘Since it has been installed it has meant a major reduction in our waste output and also helped us to react to needing certain components urgently while also being able to monitor the quality during the manufacturing process.’
