A major chemical supplier in Ireland selected Silotank to provide a turnkey mixing plant for their new facility. The scope of the work included 4 No 6000 Litre cPVC/GRP Mixing tanks designed for high temperture exothermic reactions as a result of the mix formulations. The selection of thermoplastic liner and resin system required careful investigation to ensure that the resin system was suitable for the thermal shock. A GRP platform 10metres long x 3.5metres wide x 3.5metres high with two staircases for access to the mixing tanks was pre-fabricated at Silotank works, dismantled and re-assembled once on site. The mixing tanks where located within a HDPE bund fabricated at the Silotank works in Belfast and shipped to site as a one piece construction. Individual bunding was provided for all pumps on site. Silotank fabricated and installed the pipework manifold allowing the customer great flexibility in mixing and filling from each tank.
